Mother's Day- Gifts I've Received

My Favorite Mothers Day Gifts

Mamma's are always putting others before themselves, this is why I absolutely love mothers day! I think Mothers Day is the perfect day to give mom a rest and shower her with extra love and affection! What do you give mom for mothers day though? It can be so tough for us moms to think of something we want when asked "What would you like for mothers day?" We spend so much time thinking of others needs and wants that when it comes time to think of our own wants, it can be kind of hard! So here is a list of the gifts I've received the last few mothers days, maybe you'll be inspired with an idea of what you would like this year! Because Mamma, you deserve it!

My "First" Mothers Day
I spent my very first mothers day pregnant with Buba! I actually took my very last belly picture a few days later when we celebrated a belated mothers day with my Mamma and my son arrived just over a week later. I was huge, felt terrible and my gestational diabetes was out of control, but in spite of all that it was a beautiful day! We celebrated with my husbands family by going out to lunch at my favorite restaurant (Red Robin) and shopping at the strip malls near by. We also visited my mother, but celebrated with a BBQ the following weekend when all my siblings could join us. My mom gave me a special "Mom to be" Mothers Day Gift that was so special!

From My Mom
-Cement Block Hand Print Set

-Lotion
-Garden Decoration

My Second Mothers Day
My Second Mothers Day I had another special passenger along for the ride! I absolutely love being pregnant on mothers day! The things we go through in order to bring a baby into this world are amazing and beautiful and being pregnant on mothers day just makes you that much more appreciative that you're a mom!

My Husband and Buba surprised me with a couple gifts last mothers day!
My grandparents kitchen was decorated with geese. When my grandfather passed away a bunch of us grandchildren each inherited a couple glasses or mugs from their kitchen. Just before mothers day I saw this glass goose in the store and fell in love and told my husband I wanted it for mothers day.

When I opened my glass goose, there was also a roll of vinyl craft paper. Here's a picture of me looking very confused before my husband surprised me with a new Silhouette Cameo! I had been talking about wanting one of these for a long time, and it is one of the best gifts I have ever received!

Party Planning- Ahoy Its a Boy

Ahoy Its A Boy Baby Shower

Hey Everyone! Sorry for the delayed blog post! I had a crazy weekend and I threw my sister-in-law a surprise sprinkle baby shower on Sunday so I couldn't blog about it till today!

My Brother & Sister-in-law are expecting their second boy and our family couldn't be more excited! My mom & I started talking about throwing a shower for them & so I headed over to pintrest to collect ideas! They are decorating my new little nephews bedroom in a nautical theme so when pintrest showed me the "Ahoy Its A Boy" Theme I knew I had to use it!

So we got to work! We took The Pajama Mamma Party Planning Outline  and planned out our party!

INVITATION
After choosing our location date & time I made our invitation. Because it was a surprise party and just a small family event, we didn't create a Facebook event or send out invitations in the mail. I secretly stole an adorable 3D ultrasound photo off of my Sister in laws Facebook page, created this invitation thanks to inspiration from Pinterest & my awesome computer program "Page Plus" & then sent it in a text message to our family members.
FOOD
Thanks to Pinterest we found a bunch of cute ideas for the food! Here's a picture of "Buba" & "Sissy" enjoying the party and the delicious food!

We decided to have "Crabwiches" which turned out to be DELICIOUS! I highly recommend this recipe for your next event!  CRABwiches Recipe

My mom is an awesome cake maker and she made these adorable and delicious blue cupcakes and I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out some adorable whales to stick on top!

We decided that Chips and fruit were the perfect sides for our Crabwiches and blue Koolaid labeled as "Ocean Water" was a big hit!

Our Fishbait labeled gummy worms and Salt Water Taffy were a also a fan favorite especially with all our little ones!

DECORATIONS

Thanks again to Pinterest for all the wonderful ideas we found for decorations! Also a special thanks to my sister who was a huge help in setting everything up the day of the shower!

For our welcome decor we made an "Ahoy Its A Boy" banner and got some balloons so when my Sister-in-law pulled up she would know what was going on!

Our food table we decided to make look like a ship. We used tablecloths, a pole and some paper circles. This was surprisingly easy!

I absolutely love my Shilouette Cameo! I can do so much wonderful things with it and it was  HUGE help with this party! I used it to cut out these peices for our Ahoy Its A Boy pail and my mom made this L which is the first letter of my nephews name!

Around the room decor was this cute little anchor garland.

For the present station we added a "Mamma to be banner" and I thought the presents looked beautiful in the window with the light coming from behind them.
And our Special event decor was our baby whale balloon "Guestbook"

 PHOTOBOOTH
Here's a few cute pictures from our photobooth from our party!

 MY BABY SHOWER GIFT

Again thanks to my amazing Cameo I made these adorable gifts for my nephews! I made them big brother / lil brother shirts that said "Did we just become best buds" & "YEP!" along with a sign for the baby's room that said "Poop Deck"
(I am also a photographer and I gave them a gift certificate for a free maternity photo shoot)
Memories By Tara

It was such a beautiful Sprinkle Shower and we had so much fun celebrating the soon arrival of our next little boy! I hope you enjoyed these pictures from our party and maybe even were inspired for your next event!

Easter Crafts

Pajama Mamma Easter 2017

I absolutely love Easter! It is very high up on my favorite holidays list! When I think of Easter, I think of being a child, running around with my big  sister and my 3 cousins that were like my best friends. I think about hunting for Eggs in my grandfathers back yard, that felt like a magical garden! I think about getting into our Sunday best, and I think fondly about the religious part of the holiday, even though we no longer attend church. I always loved getting to wear those fluffy Easter dresses! I think about family, and love, and beauty, and for these reasons it is one of my favorite holidays!

I recently did my children's Easter photos, and they turned out beautiful! This was my first year doing professional Easter photos, but I love them so much it is now a tradition!

Easter Photos 2017

This will be Buba's 3rd Easter! I am so excited to have him be so big this year! He is getting such a good grasp on the holidays, and is able to understand some of what is going on now, and that is so fun! He occasionally talks about finding eggs! I think he remembers Easter last year, it may be his first memory that will stick around!

This will be Sissy's first Easter, and I'm so excited! I love first
holidays! Its so special to have a little one who is experiencing everything for the first time! It always feels so magical! I'm also so excited to finally have someone to put in a fluffy Easter dress!

Easter Crafts

I love crafts, and I love having my kids do crafts and using them as decorations around my house! Here are a couple crafts that I did with my kids this year!

Easter Bunny Coloring Page

Here is an adorable coloring page from the blogger "Love My Big Happy Family" I had Sissy finger paint instead of coloring, and she thought it was great! This was her first art project ever! She got so excited and immidiately starting rubbing her hands in the paint! She was all smiles the
whole time! It was so adorable! I think I have another little artist on my hands!

Hatching Chick Easter Craft

Buba has always loved crafts! Any time he gets to color or paint or use glitter he is all in! So he was super excited to do this Easter craft! He jumped right in and got to painting, I love watching him color and paint, he doesn't do it the way a typical 2 1/2 year old boy would! He paints very precisely and paints the shapes as apposed to just scribbling! Its so adorable! He was super excited when I cut and put together his egg! He loved that his chicky could play peek-a-boo!

I hope you and your kids enjoy these crafts as much as we did! Thanks to "Love My Big Happy Family" for the awesome links! Have fun and enjoy!

PARTY PLANNING 1

PARTY PLANNING GUIDE

Party Planning, for any occasion, can be so overwhelming! There's so much to do, so much to cover, how to you even begin planning it all?

I've heard plenty of moms say "I don't even know where to start"

I totally understand this, when it was time to plan my sons first birthday I was quite overwhelmed with the whole idea. I knew I wanted it to be a big party because it was his first birthday but I had never planned a big party before.

I sat down at my computer and compiled all of my ideas, which was a lot, and then I had to sort through those ideas and make it more realistic. It took me a few parties before I got a rhythm to my madness!

Now I don't even blink when it is time to plan a party! I absolutely LOVE planning parties! I've been told they turn out beautiful and even that they seem like professionally planned parties!
