Summer Day Camp Week 2

Summer Words Week Day 3

  • Today was field trip day! We went to cinemark!
  • The kids did so great at the movies. They all stayed in their seats for the whole movie (for the most part) they each got their own little popcorn, and they all had so much fun!

  • After the movie we stopped by the fountain & even got to watch a little water show! I think this was the kids favorite part!

  • After the fountain we went to a little cafe and had some lunch before we drove back to daycare!

  • Back at daycare (after nap time of course) we celebrated one of our kids birthdays! We sang, had some cake & party hats & played.

What a busy day for us here at Pajama Mamma Summer Day Camp! We had so much fun learning so many new summer words! And it’s only Wednesday! Stay tuned for tomorrow’s summer words!

Summer Day Camp Week 1

Week One: All About ME Week

We had such a fun first week in our Summer Daycare program! We had a week full of papers and projects that taught the kids all about themselves. We talked about our names, our body parts, the things we can do, and our families. Each day one of the kids brought a special project that their moms helped them fill out which was a paper full of their favorite things & information about them along with pictures of them and their families.

Our summer field trip this week was to the park where we had daycare picture day and played at the park!

It was a great kick off to our Summer Program! We are so excited for next week & the weeks that follow and can’t wait to share all the fun things we do!

Pajama Mamma Daycare

RAINY DAYS WEEK

Our family went on a beautiful beach vacation last week, because of this we had a shorter week at Pajama Mamma Daycare & Preschool. In addition to our short weeks we had a few late start days, so I don’t have quite as much to share with you this week but there are still a few fun things I wanted to share!

I think our “Lesson Learning” time is one of our most important times of the day, and the kids love it! This week we had two fun papers!

The first was a ABC tracing letters paper. We have 3 different ages here and they all had a different ability with this paper and I found it fascinating.

Walker is 3 almost 4. He loves letters and after showing him how to trace with the letter A he attempted letter B and was discouraged, after a little praise he gained confidence and finished the whole paper by himself. Alex is 2 1/2, he paid attention as we named off each letter and he was excited to name some too, but tracing the letters went a little over his head and he proceeded to color. Wrynlee is almost 2, she has just barley became aware of letters and numbers and calls them all “2.” She also just recently became interested in coloring, so she was very excited to color the rain drops! Here at Pajama Mamma we understand that each kid is going to have different abilities and be at different levels. We are currently exploring where everyone is at and we are having so much fun in the process!

Our second paper was a shaped paper. The children identified the shapes and then glued the rain drop onto the correct spot on the umbrella. This paper was rather easy for Walker, he zoomed right through and knew all his shapes. It was a bit over Wrynlees head, she’s just beginning to become familiar with shapes. It was spot on for Alex, he’s learning his shapes and really benefited from this paper.

We had some pretty cute rain themed coloring  pages through the week!

The kids loved making these water color coffee filter umbrellas!

My personal favorite of the week, and I think it was the kids too, was our rain cloud in a jar experiment! So cool!

We had a great week at Pajama Mamma Daycare! Can’t wait for next week!

Our First Week of Daycare

We got our first student enrolled in Pajama Mamma Daycare & Preschool! He’s an adorable 2 1/2 year old little boy named Alex. Last week was our first week with him and we had a complete blast!

Meet the Pajama Mammas little popcorns! (Pajama Mamma Students)

Landon, Alex

Walker & Wrynlee

Our first weeks theme was St. Patrick’s Day. Each day during Circle time we learn songs about our theme.

Each Day we played an awesome game! We played St. Patty’s BINGO with skittles. We played St. Patty’s I Spy, and we had a St. Patty’s sensory bin with green water and full of shiny gold coins!

Each Day we had Craft Time. We painted rainbows that we turned into twirlers with pots of gold at the end. We painted finger print rainbows and added glitter to make our pot of gold sparkly! And we painted these adorable leprechauns with puffy paint courtesy of Love My Big Happy Family

One day we had a special themed snack! The kids went crazy over these Shamrock Floats!

Each day we have “Lesson Learning” Time. This is the time of day that is more structured learning like school. Of course we still want it to be fun! This week we counted lucky marshmallow, practiced our cutting with scissors (or line tracing for the younger kids) and separated our colored cereal into colors of the rainbow... or at least some of us did!

And of course we had our party Day! We sent home a note telling the kids to bring their green shirts and a leprechaun snuck in during quiet time and brought us hats & gold coins!

We have a color time each day too, we had a special cute shamrock coloring page on our party day And we used all different kinds of green writing utensils!

We had a fabulous first week! We learned lots, had yummy snacks and lunches, we played and got creative! We danced our hearts out and were just children! The way it should be! Can’t wait to see what next week has in store!

Pajama Mamma Daycare & Preschool

I never imagined myself as a Stay at Home Mom. I always pictured myself as a career woman, even though I never had something I specifically wanted to “Be.” I always enjoyed children, but never had the teachers touch that my mother and sister had. I’ve always been a sensitive nurturing person. I’ve always worn my heart on my sleeve, have always taken care of those around me, have always loved making a fuss over even the littlest of holidays. I always had an empty feeling not having the “What I wanted to be when I grew up” figured out. My sister knew from the time she was 3 or 4 that she wanted to be a Teacher, and here she is now living out that dream.

From the first day I saw my sons face I knew, I knew this is what I was destined for, all my qualities that didn’t seem to fit any profession fit this perfectly, motherhood. I was born to be a mother. It has completed me and helped me blossom into the person I am today.

My son is nearing 4 years old, and as he does I’ve noticed more and more of a need for a school or daycare environment. He has a thirst for knowledge and jumps at any oppertunity to learn something new or play a learning game. He was the happiest I ever saw him when we went to a park or somewhere he could see other kids and I knew he craved the social outlet. I started looking at preschools and daycares, they were expensive for not a lot of time, they all wanted him to be completely potty trained (which he hasn’t accomplished yet) and I just couldn’t find something that was a perfect fit for us.

I started to watch my nephew a couple days a week, he was only a baby, but having him around added a whole new structure and atmosphere to our days. I started doing preschool and daycare type activities with my son and I got the idea to open a daycare and preschool. To bring other children into my home and offer them the same things I was offering and watching for my child.

I loved the idea of offering a loving environment that felt like home for other mothers to take their children to. I imagine leaving your child every day to go to work is hard, and I was very excited about offering a place that may just make that a little easier.

So my husband and I set off to work, getting the thin gas we needed and reorganizing our home, and Pajama Mamma Daycare & Preschool we’re born!
